First loss of season:
The Crusaders suffered their first set back of the 2009 season on Friday night
when they lost to Prep 28-21. The game did not start off well for the Crusaders.
On the first drive of the game Prep running back Peoples broke loose for a 80
yard touchdown run. The first half was all Prep. The Judge offense could not
come up with the first down catch. At halftime Prep lead 21-0. In the locker room,
coach Coyle brought the entire team together and talked about what just
happened and what they needed to do to come back. The team that played in
the second half was not the same team that played in the first half. Prep scored
early in the half to go up 28-0, however Judge would not quit. The defense
returned a pass for a TD and then recovered a fumble. The offense then scored
14 points on passes from Tony Smith. The Judge defense that was picked apart
early on, bonded together and played strong for the final 25 minutes of the
game. The defense intercepted four passes and recovered a fumble.

The Crusaders look to bounce back next week when they travel to PW to play
the defending Catholic League Champions LaSalle. LaSalle beat Father Judge
28-20 last year in the Championship Game.
